Maintenance due to the October 2025 Wako campus planned power outage for HOKUSAI will be as follows.

Supercomputer HOKUSAI BigWaterfall2(HBW2) From 5:00 p.m. on October 10 to 1:00 p.m. on October 15 Note that job execution control will be performed before the downtime: Jobs that are expected not to end until the start time of the downtime will be not started.
After resuming operation, the unstarted jobs will be started.		 HBW2 Contact
Data Science Infrastructure HOKUSAI SailingShip(HSS) From 5:00 p.m. on October 10 to 1:00 p.m. on October 15/td> Various services running on HSS (including R2DMS and RARS) will also be stopped.
For HSS, please stop VMs (instances) before the service is stopped. VMs running at the time of service suspension will be terminated. Snapshot taking will be disabled from 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 9.
VMs will not start automatically after the service is restarted, so please start it by yourself. Also, if shared storage or other operations are not working properly, please try rebooting the system once.		 HSS Contact

Data Science Infrastructure HOKUSAI SailingShip (HSS)

The HSS service was suspended due to a power outage in the Wako Campus at around 5:00 p.m. on August 18,
and service resumed at 3:20 a.m. on August 19.

VMs will not start automatically after the service is restarted, so please start it by yourself.
Also, if shared storage or other operations are not working properly, please try rebooting the system once.

The Data Science Infrastructure HOKUSAI SailingShip (HSS) began operations
in October 2020 and is scheduled to end in May 2026.
We are currently considering a successor system.
HSS is a private IaaS primarily designed for storing, sharing,
and analyzing data related to research, and is widely used by over 100 projects.
However, we believe there is untapped potential demand,
and aim to address this by developing a more user-friendly system.

To ensure the next HSS becomes a widely adopted system within RIKEN,
we are soliciting feedback from across the organization.
Even if you do not plan to use the next HSS, your input will be valuable for future reference.
We kindly request your participation in this survey.
