HSS/HBW2 Maintenance Information at the end of FY2025

The Data Science Infrastructure HOKUSAI SailingShip (HSS)

HSS (including R2DMS and RARS) will continue to operate at the end of the fiscal year, but only the online submission system (hss-desk) will be stopped during the following period for the end-of-fiscal-year update.
HSS VMs, shared storage, OpenStack management console, etc. will not be stopped.
Various services running on HSS (including R2DMS and RARS) will continue to operate, unless otherwise specified.

Service suspension period(hss-desk): March 31, 1:00 p.m. to April 2, 10:00 a.m.

After the service resumes, we will start accepting applications for new project use and point purchases for FY2025.

The Supercomputer HOKUSAI BigWaterfall2 (HBW2)

HBW2 will undergo maintenance at the end of the fiscal year, so all services will be suspended for the following period.

Service suspension period: March 31, 1:00 p.m. to April 2, 10:00 a.m.
*All jobs that have been submitted as of 1:00 p.m. on March 31 will be deleted.

After the service resumes, we will begin accepting new project applications and other applications for FY2026.

Acceptance of HBW2 FY2025 Usage Report has started
Acceptance of Usage Reports for HOKUSAI BigWaterfall2(HBW2) FY2025 RIKEN projects has started.

HBW2 RIKEN project users are required to submit a usage report.
* Only the Project Representative and Assistant Project Representative may submit the usage report.

* HPCI project users are not eligible for this guidance on submitting a user report. Please follow the guidance from HPCI.

Maintenance due to the October 2025 Wako campus planned power outage for HOKUSAI will be as follows.

Supercomputer HOKUSAI BigWaterfall2(HBW2) From 5:00 p.m. on October 10 to 1:00 p.m. on October 15 Note that job execution control will be performed before the downtime: Jobs that are expected not to end until the start time of the downtime will be not started.

For HSS, please stop VMs (instances) before the service is stopped. VMs running at the time of service suspension will be terminated. Snapshot taking will be disabled from 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 9.
