Maintenance Due to Partial Decommissioning of Shared Storage for HSS will be as follows.

Data Science Infrastructure HOKUSAI SailingShip(HSS) Tuesday, May 26, 11:00 – 17:00 JST
Various services running on HSS (including R2DMS and RARS) will also be stopped.		 For HSS, please stop VMs (instances) before the service is stopped. VMs running at the time of service suspension will be terminated.
Snapshot taking will be disabled from 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 9.
VMs will not start automatically after the service is restarted, so please start it by yourself.
Also, if shared storage or other operations are not working properly, please try rebooting the system once.		 HSS Contact

We will perform emergency maintenance on the HBW2 front-end servers and compute
nodes today, May 1, from 12:00 to 15:00 JST.
The Emergency maintenance has been completed, and operations resumed on Friday, May 1 at 13:45 (JST).
Please note that the system will be unavailable during the maintenance period.

All login sessions active at the start of the maintenance will be disconnected.
Additionally, any jobs running at the start of maintenance will be forcibly terminated as part of the maintenance process.
Jobs that have been configured for re-execution (with the –requeue option) will be restarted after maintenance.
For all other jobs, please resubmit them after operations resume.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

HSS/HBW2 Maintenance Information at the end of FY2025

The Data Science Infrastructure HOKUSAI SailingShip (HSS)

HSS (including R2DMS and RARS) will continue to operate at the end of the fiscal year, but only the online submission system (hss-desk) will be stopped during the following period for the end-of-fiscal-year update.
HSS VMs, shared storage, OpenStack management console, etc. will not be stopped.
Various services running on HSS (including R2DMS and RARS) will continue to operate, unless otherwise specified.

Service suspension period(hss-desk): March 31, 1:00 p.m. to April 2, 10:00 a.m.

After the service resumes, we will start accepting applications for new project use and point purchases for FY2025.

The Supercomputer HOKUSAI BigWaterfall2 (HBW2)

HBW2 will undergo maintenance at the end of the fiscal year, so all services will be suspended for the following period.

Service suspension period: March 31, 1:00 p.m. to April 2, 10:00 a.m.
*All jobs that have been submitted as of 1:00 p.m. on March 31 will be deleted.

After the service resumes, we will begin accepting new project applications and other applications for FY2026.
