Additional recruitment of projects in the 2nd half of FY2016(non-periodic)
FY2016 regular operation of HOKUSAI GreatWave started on April 4. ACCC
starts accepting FY2016 2nd application of General use project.
(Applictions of Quick use project are always acceptable.)

(1) Acceptable usage category of FY2016 2nd application
General use of this fiscal year of RIKEN.
Note: Applications of General use project are acceptable only during the
specified periods which are put twice a fiscal year. However, we
allocated most CPU resources at 1st application of FY. At 2nd application
of FY, a small part of CPU resources will be provided. Applications for
Quick use project are always acceptable.

General use project is a category for projects which need more than 1% of
any computing resources and it is required to estimate necessary
computing time in previous usage. Quick use projects are permitted to use
1% of each computing resources of remaining term.

=========================================================================
Total computing resources for 12 months
GW-MPC: 302,745,600 core-hours
GW-ACSL: 1,051,200 core-hours
GW-ACSG: 6,307,200 core-hours
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
GW-RICC: 32,366,400 core-hours (9 months until the end of December 2016)
(The regular operation of GW-RICC system will be finished in the end of
December 2016. However, we are considering about practicable
operation after the end of the regular operation. We will inform you
about our operation plan of GW-RICC when we decide the plan.)
=========================================================================

The allocatable computing resources at FY2016 2nd application
(Remainder of FY2016 1st application and estimation from usage situation
of CPU resources.)
GW-MPC:24,219,648 core-hours (8% of total computing resources in the FY)
GW-ACSL:378,432 core-hours (36% of total computing resources in the FY)
GW-ACSG:1,892,160 core-hours (30% of total computing resources in the
FY)
GW-RICC:8,091,600 core-hours (25% of total computing resources in the FY)

The upper limit of core-hours of a project is 20 % of each computing
resources in the FY. In the case of GW-MPC the upper limit of core-hours
is 8 % due to the limited allocatable computing resources. When the sum
of the application core-hours exceeds the allocatable core-hours, core-
hours are allocated from the project obtained higher score by the Review
Committee.

Applicants must read these three documents to know the details about user
eligibility, usage categories, system configuration of HOKUSAI-GW and how
to be reviewed before making proposals.
